Common Questions

What is BirdBets?

BirdBets is a daily prediction market tied to a real BirdBuddy smart feeder. Each day you can bet MYKCLAWD on whether more birds will visit than yesterday's count. It runs on Base and is meant to be fun, not a serious product.

How does a daily market work?

A new market opens each day. The threshold is yesterday's bird visit count. You bet YES if you think today's visits will be higher, or NO if you think they will be at or below that number. After the day ends, the market resolves using the actual visit count from the feeder. The oracle may also seed a new market with MYKCLAWD on both YES and NO so there is starting liquidity and opening odds before the first bettor arrives.

What token do I bet with?

Bets use MYKCLAWD, an ERC-20 on Base. Connect a wallet on the home page, approve the token if needed, and place a YES or NO bet from the prediction market card.

How are bird visits counted?

Visit counts come from a BirdBuddy feeder connected through Home Assistant. The live stream and visit stats on the home page reflect that sensor data. Counts may not be perfectly accurate — treat them as part of the experiment, not gospel.

When does betting close?

Each market has a betting cutoff before the day ends. Once betting closes, you cannot add new positions for that market. Check the market card on the home page for the current status and cutoff timing.

How do payouts work?

Winning bets share the losing side's pool proportionally to how much MYKCLAWD they staked. Odds shift as more bets come in, so your potential payout depends on when you bet and how the pools balance out. If the oracle seeded the market, that liquidity sits in the pools like any other stake and helps set the starting odds.

How do I claim winnings?

After a market resolves, the oracle's daily automation usually distributes prizes automatically by processing claims for winning bettors on chain. You do not have to do anything for that to happen. You can also claim yourself from the contract if you prefer — an unclaimed payout should appear in your market bets section on the home page once your wallet is connected.

Can I bet through an AI agent?

Yes. BirdBets has integration guides for Base MCP and the Bankr skill, which can read market data and help prepare onchain bets.
